Thank you for your interest in the L.I.G.H.T. home school group. L.I.G.H.T. stands for Leaders In Godly Home Teaching, and we have been serving home school famlies in the South OKC, Moore area for over 20 years.
Our vision and purpose is to support families who have been called by God to home educate their children in reaching educational excellence and family wholeness. We are pleased to be able to serve and support you and your family in your homeschooling journey.
The LIGHT believes homeschooling, at its core, is parent taught, parent led, and non-government funded education. Therefore, we do not allow membership by families participating in PSAH (Public School at Home) programs, including, but not limited to, K-12 and Epic. If your family is currently enrolled in a government funded program, we would like the opportunity to assist you in withdrawing from the program and provide you with information and support to enable you to be a part of our group.
Before you begin the registration process, please take a moment to read our Bylaws and Statement of Faith. If you are in agreement with the Doctrinal Statements and willing to abide by the Bylaws of the LIGHT, you may continue with your registration. If not, thank you for visiting the LIGHT Homeschool Group and blessings on your homeschool journey.
Families are approved for L.I.G.H.T. membership two ways. First, a family may join L.I.G.H.T. through a referral from a current LIGHT family. If you know someone who is a member of LIGHT, please e-mail that member’s name to info@lighthomeschool.org.
Once we confirm your association with a current L.I.G.H.T. member, you will be approved to continue with the registration process. Please allow 2 days for the confirmation process to be finished. When the process is complete, you will receive a notification e-mail with instructions about registration. Families who do not know any current L.I.G.H.T members will need to attend a L.I.G.H.T. event so that our leadership may have an oppourtunity to meet you. An informal meeting allows us to get to know your family a little bit, and gives you an opportunity to ask questions to insure the L.I.G.H.T. is a good fit for your family. We host several events throughout the year, including a co-op which meets weekly.
Please e-mail our leadership team at info@lighthomeschool.org if interested in pursuing membership, and we will promplty let you know when we can set up a time to meet you. Again, this meeting is more of an informal conversation rather than a formal interview.
